Abstract: The dynamic stress that acts on a vehicle|s drive system when driving over a road unevenness is calculated in this paper. The so-called additional wheel rotation of a driven vehicle|s wheel has been chosen and modelled together with its influence on the whole mechanical system of a vehicle. This additional wheel rotation is caused by a different angular path of the wheel travelling over an unevenness in comparison to the wheel which does not. The effect of excitement is analysed using a simplified model of a vehicle having three degrees of freedom. Its time responses are computed using numerical methods. The additional rotation proves to be very influential and must be taken into consideration when analysing the total stress acting on the whole drive system.
