Abstract: The paper is based on the results of the research work of a team of experts of the Faculty of Civil Engineering of CTU in Prague. When devising a theoretical model of the analysed vehicle/bridge system, it is necessary to pay attention to the modelling of the bridge structure including the surface unevennesses of the carriageway and the modelling of the moving vehicles. We study and compare the different calculation methods. The results of the solution of the calculation models and the applied methods are best verified by an experimental investigation of actual bridge structures in situ.

Keywords: 3D physical models; modal analysis; bridge structures; bridge structural response; vehicle-bridge interaction; verification; surface unevenness; carriageway surfaces; moving vehicles; vehicle modelling; structural vibration; dynamics; transport structures.
