Abstract: This study investigates the innovation financing system supporting technology development and commercialisation in Thailand. The study is based on the findings of the research project funded by Canada's International Development Research Center (IDRC-CRDI). The paper examines the government policies and financing programmes of major institutions legitimising technology and innovation financing such as the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Science and Technology and Ministry of Industry. The results provide empirical evidence of the innovation financing system and offer useful implications for policy makers in developing economies to promote technology transfer and commercialisation of innovations.
