Abstract: This paper provides a close look at the digital divide in Taiwan from domestic and cross-country perspectives. Data regarding ICT diffusion, e-readiness and competitiveness collected from different sources are compiled and analysed to reflect the evidence of the digital divide in Taiwan as well as to show comparative results of cross-selected Asia countries. Government strategies and programmes to bridge digital gaps and to sustain national competitiveness are also presented.
