Abstract: Studies have shown that even elaborate Municipal Solid Waste Management (MSWM) schemes turn futile. Hence, people involved in MSWM should design the schemes carefully by taking in account the correct factors and giving them due weightage. Consequently, identifying the MSWM factors and their significance becomes an essential and crucial process for a waste management scheme to be environmentally effective, economically viable and socially acceptable. Thus, the objective of this paper is to propose an analytic framework to provide MSWM experts a more effective and efficient model for prioritising MSWM factors.
