Abstract: Linear multivariate equations have been developed for tourniquet-less non-invasive monitoring of blood pressure in Indian subjects aged 10-80 years, including subjects under antihypertensive treatment. Averaged time intervals over four successive beats in photoplethysmogram (PPG), impedance plethysmogram (IPG) and electrocardiogram (ECG) of 137 subjects (94 males and 43 females) have been used to develop predicting equations for Systolic Blood Pressure (SBP) and Mean Arterial Pressure (MAP) using oscillometric reference with correlation coefficient of 0.88 and 0.797; and root mean square error as 6.98 and 7.09 respectively. Validity of developed equations was further tested on entirely different group of 136 subjects (84 males and 52 females) with correlation coefficient of 0.826 and 0.731 respectively. The results of this study suggest use of developed equations for tourniquetless continuous beat-to-beat BP monitoring.
