Abstract: The paper describes the need for increased environmental protection due to the continuing environmental degradation in Europe and worldwide. In particular, it analyses all the steps and mechanisms that the EU embarked on in recent years and the measures to be undertaken in the near future with the help not only from the EU and international law but also with the thorough analysis of case law.
