Abstract: The commercialisation of disruptive technology requires models that are different from ones for sustaining or incremental technologies. In this paper, we define disruptive technologies and discontinuous innovations, contrast their commercialisation with that of incremental technologies and propose a set of models that will enhance the success of commercialising disruptive technologies. These models are then explained in terms of a suggested plan of action for successful technology transfer activities.
Keywords: commercialisation; discontinuous innovation; disruptive technology; technology transfer.
