Abstract: Two kinds of compliance prediction techniques (single test compliance and population compliance) on the vehicle crash testing are discussed. The confidence (C) in meeting the government mandated requirement based upon successful test results of certain samples is derived for each one of the above two techniques when the population is normally distributed (or Weibull distributed).

Keywords: confidence; normal distribution; population compliance; single test compliance; tolerance limit; Weibull distribution.
