Abstract: New aspects of the growing use of web-based instructional systems (WBIS) are presented. Three research questions regarding the movement of the WBIS to Browser-based electronic performance support systems (BBEPSS) are answered. The three main characteristics of BBEPSS and their issues for the EPSS implementation within the learning organisation are presented. The main characteristics that bring the WBIS close to the BBEPSS are discussed. The model of design of BBEPSS is based on the Elaborated hypermedia design model with an example of BBEPSS for design of Instructional multimedia applications is developed. Some considerations about the shift of the main parts of the BBEPSS toward using web technology are presented.
