Abstract: This study examines, analyses and compares the relationship between certain organisational profitability and visibility variables (profit margin, management efficiency, age and size of organisations, respectively) and technology in a number of American and Jordanian manufacturing organisations. The results of this study indicate that the two selected profitability variables – profit margin and management efficiency – are positively and significantly associated with technology in the surveyed American and Jordanian manufacturing organisations. While the two visibility variables – age and the size of these organisations – are negatively and significantly associated with technology in American organisations. The same variables are positively and significantly associated with technology in their Jordanian counterparts.
