Abstract: Spot welding is the best known and most generally used method of resistance welding, as it can be applied to a wide variety of articles by replacing rivets, screws, soldering and brazing. In the present work, spot welding quality namely, mechanical strength and the micro-hardness of the weld nugget, for welding mild steel sheets, are correlated with vibrational behaviour.

Keywords: electrode force; microhardness; nondestructive testing; shear strength; tensile strength; vibrations; spot welding; welding quality; welding mild steel sheets; steel sheet welding.
