Abstract: We have developed a knowledge storing system for casting defects and a knowledge sharing system that can be linked to it. As a result of subjecting these systems to trials in several businesses, we have been able to confirm that they are useful for purposes such as compiling logical databases from technical information on defect countermeasures and sharing knowledge that can be expected to improve techniques in the future.
