Abstract: This paper focuses on knowledge-sharing, one of the most important processes in managing knowledge, through an investigation of applied Knowledge-Management strategies. Moreover, the nature of the knowledge-sharing environment, as well as the approaches to sharing knowledge are examined, aiming to shed light on current organisational practices. Extensive reference is also made to the relevant literature and to research concerning knowledge-sharing behaviour, the barriers to sharing knowledge, as well as to suggestions regarding the augmentation of the organisational knowledge-sharing culture. Finally, an empirical study investigating the knowledge-sharing behaviour of bank employees in Greece is briefly presented.

Keywords: knowledge management strategies; knowledge sharing behaviour; culture; incentive systems; bank employees; Greece; banking.
