Abstract: The article analyses input parameters of the forming system under conditions of mass production, such as material parameters, friction conditions, temperature, etc. The purpose of this analysis is to gain actual input data for more successful planning and production process optimisation by means of numerical simulations. In the case of cold forging of an inner race, the influence of the most important extrusion parameters on the accuracy of a product and tool life were analysed. Finally, successful control of the cold forging technology requires also high-quality manufacture and long life of a tool. Optimum design, appropriate choice of materials and prestressing of the extrusion dies increase the life of tools for producing elements with high dimensional accuracy.
