Abstract: Based on an analysis of the difficulties of Closed-Loop Supply Chain (CLSC) operations management, the consideration of the new environment as the economic society that is developing continuously, and a discussion of the feasibility of virtual enterprises, an operations management mode for the CLSC based on virtual enterprises is presented in this paper. The organisational framework, operational process and dynamic capability of virtual enterprises with the traditional management mode are expounded in detail. Using the exergoeconomics theory, the CLSC is regarded as a huge energy system from a new view, and the sustainability of the CLSC system is discussed under the context of exergoeconomics in this paper. The metric |system negative environment effect| is introduced to measure the performance of the CLSC system based on energy viewpoint. A case study illustrates our conclusion.
