Abstract: This paper examines the engineering profession in Hong Kong from the point of view of continuing education needs. The paper also looks at the postgraduate programs offered by the engineering faculties at Hong Kong|s tertiary institutions, and in particular at the balance between technical specialist subjects and engineering/general management subjects. While continuing education needs will vary for different engineering groups, a high management content is regarded as necessary for Hong Kong, where most engineers, and particularly those in manufacturing, find themselves at the interface of management and technology.
