Abstract: In this paper, the various damping factors that affect the design of throttle slice thickness were analysed, and the mathematical model for throttle slice thickness design by single velocity point was found. Based on this, we studied the method of optimisation design and the target function of curve-fitting optimisation design for throttle slice thickness was established. A practical design example of throttle slice thickness of telescopic shock absorber is given, the designed value was compared with that by single velocity and shown on the telescopic shock absorber blueprint of factory. The performance test was conducted for the telescopic shock absorber developed with the new design methods, and compared with the desired values, the tested values approach that desired. The experiment results show that the method of curve-fitting optimisation design for the throttle slice thickness is accurate, and the designed value is reliable and precise.
