Abstract: A new type of mixed mechanism (EGM) is presented in this paper. This design is an attractive alternative to new transmitting movement and power for some special demand. This new kind of mechanism is a combinatorial-embedded structure by using some gears and harmonic gear mechanism. By comparing this new EGM with the classical planetary gear mechanism, the new EGM can get more compactness structure in axial and can get a broader transmitting ratio at the same transmitting power. The design and calculating formulae about this new EGM are deduced. The work lays a basis for design of this new type of EGM for engineering applications.
