Abstract: In this study we have evaluated the biosynthesis of spherical and narrow dispersed silver colloidal nanoparticles by fungus Fusarium oxysporum and the effects of processing variables such as time of reaction, biomass and Ag+ ions concentration in the reaction mixture on synthesised silver nanoparticles. The morphology, size distribution, stability and optical properties of synthesised silver nanoparticles were characterised by UV-Visible spectroscopy, SEM, EDX, and FTIR. Our investigations confirmed the biosynthesis of silver nanoparticles with average particle size of 30 nm. FTIR analysis indicated that there has been protein which maybe responsible for stabilisation of synthesised silver nanoparticles. Finally, UV-Visible, and EDX spectra confirmed the reduction of Ag+ ions in silver nitrate solution to silver nanoparticles. The investigations on processing variables| effects revealed that the stable synthesised silver nanoparticles produced at reaction time of 72 h, biomass of 7.5 g and Ag&+ ions of 1 mM in 50 ml of solution had spherical morphology with narrow size distribution and less aggregation.
