Abstract: American industry was forced to realise that, in order to succeed in today|s global market, they must produce high quality products. This paper addresses the importance of integrating TQM, strategic management and business process re-engineering. It also shows how US commitment to quality is paying off. Finally, the paper discusses the impact of quality on US industry both today and in the future.
