Abstract: Technology Roadmapping (TRM) has become an important tool for technology planning and has received increasing interest from academics and practitioners alike. It is a powerful and flexible technique that is widely used within industry to support as a strategic management tool and long-range planning products or services for the future. Due to this, the main purpose of this research is to provide a literature review of TRM up to date, in terms of taxonomy for classified roadmaps and graphical format. To create TRM a case study of Power Line Communications (PLC) from data information is presented. It is hoped that the paper can serve the needs of researchers and practitioners for easy references of TRM studies and applications, and hence promote TRM future development.
