Abstract: This article analyses the community initiative on the cross-border collective management of copyright with the aim of identifying its possible effects on one of the Candidate States, Turkey. In this respect, this is the first article examining the legal situation of the legitimate online music services in Turkey with a special emphasis to collective management of copyright in the EU.
