Abstract: In Latin America, as in other developing regions, technology policies have been principally concerned with the creation and adaptation of technology. Such policies have neglected the importance of demand-side actions and the impact of IT diffusion on individual firms. This paper addresses the diffusion of IT in Latin America, and proposes actions within the framework of technological policies.
