Abstract: Communities in both developed and developing countries are facing economic problems as a result of the decline in traditional sources of wealth. Many respond by turning to technology to restore their economic health. An example is provided by the Sud-Oise region of France. The impact on local entrepreneurial activity and technological initiatives is examined in this paper. Comparison is also made between the Sud-Oise area and other areas of technological entrepreneurship, namely the Capital District in New York State and Cuernavaca in Mexico. Finally, guidelines are offered for developing, implementing and marketing the infrastructure necessary for technological entrepreneurship.
