Abstract: The paper presents the influence of 3PL provider in an engineering service organisation customised to customer|s needs based on market conditions, demands and delivery service requirements. The dimensions and tolerance influence almost all aspects of product development, which are of interest to engineering service members, who consider all the life cycle issues of a product during its design stage. The nominal dimensions may not be achievable during manufacturing processes, due to technological or financial limitations. Therefore, tolerance synthesis gains significant importance for successful assembly also analysing the influence of 3PL provider in the service organisation for the successful product launch.

Keywords: 3PL; third party logistics; supply chain management; SCM; tolerance synthesis; FEA; finite element analysis; engineering services; assembly.
