Abstract: In this paper, we discuss the background of music therapy in the viewpoint of biophysics, particularly in the interaction and the relationship between acoustic waves in music and electromagnetic waves inside human bodies. Instead of regarding music therapy as a kind of psychological interview, we mainly discussed the role of music to help people regain their psychological and physiological balance, namely the coherent state in terms of physics, through right combination of frequencies in time and space.

Keywords: music therapy; white noise; 1/f noise; normal distribution; log-normal distribution; coherent state; biophysics; acoustic waves; electromagnetic waves; human bodies; psychological balance; physiological balance.
