Abstract: The use of problem-based learning (PBL) within curriculum design has gained momentum in the recent few years due to the pervasive penetration of internet mobile technologies. Due to the power of using contextual problems anchored in real-life issues, PBL techniques have been increasingly adopted in many workplace-learning environments to improve the quality of training provided. In this article, the specific case study of an educational research organisation in Singapore that adopted a paradigm shift in its training methods by leveraging upon a flexible PBL design approach to its mobile and web technology supported knowledge portal training programme will be looked at.
