Abstract: A flow and thermal field of a nanoporous block with random porosity distribution for the case of a laminar impinging jet is discussed in this paper. The effects of random porosity model on momentum field and the thermal field are investigated and a model is developed for their simulation. A numerical procedure to solve the model is also depicted. An iterative procedure using backward finite difference was used with a Galerkins finite element method for the solution of the model. A simulation done using FLUENT® for the temperature distribution under the influence of the impinging jet the nanoporous silica tile is also given with the captions.
