Abstract: One of the biggest challenges in the manufacturing environment is addressing the complexities related to the implementation of the Integrated-enterprise System (IS). This paper presents a practice-oriented framework for addressing the complexities in IS implementations. This framework adopts a project lifecycle that considers the various aspects of an implementation from design to he realisation and support of an IS. This framework comprises of and is supported by the Safeguarding subframework, a Critical Success Factor (CSF) subframework and a Project Lifecycle subframework. These subframeworks help practitioners in various key areas in a project to help ensure the successful design and implementation of the IS.
Keywords: enterprise integration; manufacturing; safeguarding; critical success factors; CSF: project life cycle.
