Abstract: FEA and optimisation software packages are coupled together to perform optimisation on the plastic injection molding process. Three different analyses are presented search for the best injection gate location, search for the best molding conditions for the filling process, and search for the best molding conditions to achieve minimum warpage. An automatic optimisation database file generation and custom output file parsing method has been developed for the warpage study. The estimated savings for each analysis are also presented.
