Abstract: When designing a decision-support system, much effort is made to find the best fitting models and to examine which data to include and which algorithms to use. However, the error propagation involved in poor data quality can deteriorate dramatically the accuracy of the output results. The user of the system is often unaware of the weaknesses and deficiencies in data quality. In this paper, analysis and evaluation of data quality is discussed. Further, the paper introduces visualisation aids into the system to help augment our awareness of the underlying data quality in decision-support systems and guide our focus of attention.
