Abstract: This study reviews the existing literature on venture capital's social influence on international new venture knowledge. Using records in the Web of Science from 2022 to 2025, the researchers identify 48 documents. The theoretical foundations of this research line are analysed by studying the evolution of citations in the last four years and the interactions between them. Two bibliometric techniques were applied for this analysis: co-citation, to introduce the descriptive analysis of the network, and bibliographical coupling, to perform a group and factor analysis. The results highlight the absence of a single theoretical framework and reveal key connections between research lines and the need for future research on trust-building mechanisms across VC investment stages and syndication structures.
Keywords: venture capital; VC; knowledge; syndication; international new ventures; entrepreneurship; social capital; internationalisation; network embeddedness; investment cycle; bibliometric analysis.
