Abstract: The Internet of Things (IoT) has revolutionised the way we interact with and control our homes, providing unprecedented convenience and automation. However, the widespread adoption of IoT devices has raised significant concerns regarding data privacy and security. This paper presents a novel approach to enhance the security of IoT-based home automation systems through the implementation of blockchain technology. The primary objective of this research is to enhance the smart home network's efficiency, scalability, and security. In this paper, we introduce a novel architectural framework for a sustainable smart home service that incorporates both blockchain and cloud computing technologies. The four main segments of the proposed architecture are the home segment, cloud computing segment, blockchain segment, and services segment. The findings have been systematically tabulated and visually presented through graphical representations. These results underscore the efficacy of blockchain technology as a robust platform for constructing a smart home environment.
