Abstract: Work-life balance is desirable in healthcare since stress-free people are more stimulated and creative. Our study intends to evaluate the influence of psychological stress on 325 personnel of 30 super specialty hospitals in Punjab, India. In this study, the dependent variable comprised the three independent factors connected to the psychological stresses that the JDC model emphasised. These variables included excessive workload, role ambiguity, conflict and work-life balance. We conducted reliability and factor analyses on the data collected from 325 participants. We performed the linear regression analysis to describe the associations between the dependent and independent variables. This research has established that psychological stressors, namely excessive workload, role ambiguity and role conflict, significantly negatively impact work-life balance. Past studies have focused on various elements of work-life balance. This article would be helpful for the hospital authorities to design work-life policies and programmes to improve work-life balance for healthcare professionals. The study contributes considerably to healthcare organisations, improved patient health outcomes, and enhanced community quality-of-life.
