Abstract: The present paper aimed to provide an overview of the current state of knowledge on organisational knowledge creation research. Drawing from concepts from the mainstream knowledge management works, it explains theoretical and practical implications, and suggests future research directions. For this purpose, a systematic literature review approach following the literature review protocols for management and organisational sciences was used to identify and analyse 61 full papers on organisational knowledge creation published between 2000 and 2023. The analysis results showed the relative dominance of organisational knowledge creation theory in providing insightful approaches to studying the phenomenon. Further, leadership emerged as the most investigated antecedent of knowledge creation in organisations.
