Abstract: This study aims to conduct a comparative analysis of domestic violence laws in India and the USA. Domestic violence, a pervasive social issue, poses a significant threat to individuals' safety and well-being within intimate relationships and family settings. By examining the legal frameworks, policies, and judicial approaches in both countries, this research seeks to elucidate the similarities, differences, and effectiveness of the legislative measures in addressing domestic violence. The analysis involves an exploration of key legislative acts, such as the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act (PWDVA) in India and the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) in the USA. The study delves into the scope and definitions of domestic violence, available legal remedies, protective measures for victims, law enforcement responses, support services, and the judicial system's role in combating domestic abuse.
