Abstract: With the increasing emphasis on sustainable energy consumption and the optimisation of power resources, demand response (DR) strategies have gained significant attention. This paper presents a comprehensive review of the application of demand response techniques in residential apartments, specifically focusing on the utilisation of inverters. The review explores various inverter technologies and their integration into residential power systems to enable effective demand response. It discusses the potential benefits, challenges, and prospects of employing inverter-based demand response strategies, providing insights into their impact on energy efficiency, cost savings, and grid stability. Additionally, the review highlights the key factors influencing the successful implementation of inverter-based demand response in residential settings, along with the associated regulatory, technical, and economic considerations.

Keywords: demand response; inverters; residential apartments; energy efficiency; grid stability; sustainable energy; power optimisation.
