Title: The heritage value, theatricalisation, and tourism transmission pathways of indigenous ethnic music along the Yangtze River: a case study of the Chuanjiang Working Song

Abstract: With the passage of time, cultural heritage undergoes significant changes due to the rapid development and transformation brought about by technology. This paper focuses on the impact of heritage transmission and sustainable development pathways of indigenous ethnic music cultural heritage closely linked to human production methods. The Yangtze River, traversing the mountainous regions of Southwest China, has witnessed threats to its traditional ethnic music heritage, such as the Chuanjiang Working Song, due to the construction of numerous dams. Based on the study of the heritage value of the unique indigenous ethnic music, Chuanjiang Working Song, this paper further analyses the impact of environmental changes and shifts in production methods on its transmission. From the perspective of cultural reproduction, this study proposes a theoretical framework for the innovative transmission of the Chuanjiang Working Song. Additionally, by analysing the modern musical work 'Map', the paper suggests pathways for incentivising cultural tourism transmission and sustainable development directions for the Chuanjiang Working Song.
