Abstract: To realise the differential control of the hydraulic motor in a hydraulic hub-motor auxiliary system (HHMAS), this research aims to change the flow rate of motor inlet based on the active control of throttle valve flow. On the bases of the HHMAS characteristics, the design and detailed modelling of the throttle valve are carried out, and the working mechanism and dynamic characteristics of the throttle valve are systematically revealed, laying the foundation for the active control of the fixed displacement motor oil inlet flow. Furthermore, the flow control method based on proportional-integral-derivative (PID) and feedforward + feedback are developed and the stability of the control system is validated. Simulation results show that the feedforward + feedback control method has better robustness and control effect than the PID feedback regulation.
