Abstract: This paper gives a short overview of the activities of the Belgian Nuclear Research Centre (SCK•CEN) and the role it can play in the cooperative agreement that was established between the China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) and SCK•CEN. Indeed, the current established cooperation on nuclear energy research between China and Belgium should make use of the nuclear research experiences and novel activities of SCK•CEN that have accumulated over the five decades that SCK•CEN has existed. This results in a portfolio of activities that are open for cooperation with China in the fields of education and training, participation in research programmes and consultancy.
