Abstract: This research explains and investigates the chawl construction style that is prevalent in Mumbai-India. Chawls, which are mostly occupied by people of the working class, provide residents with accessibility to a range of conveniences as well as, more importantly, a societal network of support which helps to simplify life in contemporary Mumbai. Chawls are located across the city. This research investigates the origins of Mumbai's chawl as well as the ways in which residents' societal as well as culture of life are impacted by the neighbourhoods they call home. The researching techniques that were utilised in this research analysis comprised interviewing of inhabitants of the chawls that were the focus of the research studies. According to the findings of the research, a robust networking site amongst residents of the chawl is the key factors individuals prefer to reside in these types of communities.
