Title: The impact of the digital economy on the employment structure of economies - the example of western countries

Abstract: The study examines the impact of the digital economy on the employment structure of the regional economy. The quantitative analysis model constructed by vector autoregression (VAR) and vector error correction (VEC) methods. The results of the study show that the ratio of output of secondary and tertiary industries has the greatest impact on the share of employment in the service sector, with contributions ranging from 2.86% to 33.05%. The contribution of the digital economy to the employment share of workers with high levels of education ranges from 51.97% to 59.46%. The results of the study suggest that the digital economy can contribute to an increase in the ratio of output in the region's secondary and tertiary sectors and increase the employment rate of workers with high levels of education.
