Title: From human resource management practices to employee performance in banking and information and communication technology firms: mediating role of employee well-being

Abstract: This study examined the relationship between human resources management practices (HRMP), employee well-being, and performance in Saudi financial and ICT firms after the COVID-19 pandemic. Data from 525 employees was analysed using structural equation modelling. The results showed that compensation, performance, and job competence HRMP had significant positive relationships with employee well-being, which mediated their effects on performance. However, training HRMP did not impact well-being or performance. These findings provide valuable insights into how HRMP influence outcomes in the Saudi context, underscoring the importance of well-being for performance and the need for managers to improve their practices accordingly. The study contributes to the limited research on these variables in the Saudi Arabian financial and ICT sectors, offering guidance for managers to make better-informed decisions about enhancing employee well-being and performance.
