Abstract: Gender inequality is one of the key factors impeding development. Therefore, women's participation in labour market is closely related to women's well-being. This study analyses the impact of social and economic indicators on women's health outcomes using micro-level data. Three different health-related factors: (1) general health status, (2) disease well-being status and (3) mammography screening frequency are analysed as the dependent variables. Several socio-economic and health behaviour indicators are employed to estimate their impact on women's health outcomes in Turkey. The findings from the logistic regression approach show that individuals' access to health insurance, education levels and smoking behaviours have an impact on women's well-being.

Keywords: female labour force participation; health economics; access to health services; mammography screening frequency.
