Abstract: Infrastructure construction sector is struggling with digital transformation as are numerous other fields. The asset owning organisations have visions of utilising tools such as cooperative building information modelling (BIM) and digital twin in the asset lifecycle and project network, but they still face challenges with basic information management process even inside their own organisations let alone the networks. We suggest that implementing information management process in asset lifecycle enables and promotes digital transformation, and the vision of cooperative BIM. We suggest a framework for information management in asset lifecycle. This research was conducted through interviewing asset owner and their contractors regarding asset owner's information management process. We interviewed 31 people in total. The practical community gains insights on how to improve information management in asset lifecycle. For the research community we aim to provide a suggestion for a framework of information management in asset lifecycle.
