Abstract: The study presents deeply clarify the spatiotemporal variability of droughts for the past and climate conditions in near- and mid-future over Vietnam. The methods of bias correction and unequal weights are applied to CMIP6 models under climate change scenarios SSPs. The results depict an increase in drought events in southern Vietnam during 2040-2064, especially the frequency of drought could reach up about 90%. For near-future, there is an increase in the average drought duration, the average drought severity, relative frequency, moderate dry, severe dry and extreme dry as longer time scales from 6- to 12-month scales.
