Abstract: This study examines the longitudinal and transverse electron scattering form factors for 7Li, 9Be and 24Mg nuclei using the shell model framework. The research focuses on the p and sd shell regions to better understand nuclear structure and interactions through precise calculations of form factors. The aims are to calculate and analyse the elastic and inelastic form factors for the mentioned nuclei in both p-shell and sd-shell regions, and to compare these results with previous theoretical studies and available experimental data. Two model spaces were adopted for the calculations to be performed for p-shell 1p3/2, 1p1/2 and three 1d5/2, 2s1/2, and 1d3/2 for the sd-shell. The effective interactions used are ckpot effective interaction for p-shell calculations and usda effective interaction for sd-shell calculations. The Tassie model with appropriate proton and neutron effective charges was used, incorporating core polarisation (CP) effects to refine the form factor calculations. The calculated form factors were compared with existing theoretical models and experimental data. The study provided a detailed analysis of the impact of core-polarisation effects and validated the theoretical models used.
