Abstract: The rapid growth of the information technology (IT) sector has amplified challenges in employee retention and engagement. Employee engagement (EE) has become essential for managing and retaining talent in IT organisations. Despite increasing scholarly attention, there is a notable research gap in understanding EE within the IT sector. This study conducts a bibliometric analysis and systematic literature review to synthesise existing research on EE in IT, identifying key trends, challenges, and gaps. The study also examines the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on EE dynamics. Findings offer practical insights for HR professionals and guide future research on enhancing employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention in IT organisations.
