Abstract: The day-to-day increased usage of power appliances by consumers is a growing concern. This manuscript presents an approach for IoT-based energy management in smart grid (SG) with proposed Garra rufa-fish optimisation (GRFO). The objectives of the proposed technique are to satisfy consumer energy demands while preserving energy-efficiency and minimising-cost. The GRFO algorithm optimises the consumption of energy to achieve optimal-energy in SG. The proposed method is analysed and compared to other existing-strategies in the MATLAB software. The proposed technique provides optimum outcomes in all existing PSO, WHO and HBO methods. The proposed method attains €0.015 cost. The result shows that the proposed method provides better results.
