Abstract: The day-to-day increased usage of power appliances by consumers is a growing concern. This manuscript presents an approach for IoT-based energy management in smart grid (SG) with proposed Garra rufa-fish optimisation (GRFO). The objectives of the proposed technique are to satisfy consumer energy demands while preserving energy-efficiency and minimising-cost. The GRFO algorithm optimises the consumption of energy to achieve optimal-energy in SG. The proposed method is analysed and compared to other existing-strategies in the MATLAB software. The proposed technique provides optimum outcomes in all existing PSO, WHO and HBO methods. The proposed method attains 0.015 cost. The result shows that the proposed method provides better results.
